NewBorn

Oh boy was taking her newborns an adventure! The combination of many things made it very interesting and challenging. It isn't as easy for me to take my own kids pictures and they never seem to turn out as I would have liked them to. But I did get a few and of course I love her to death and she couldn't look more precious and beautiful.

Amelia

Okay so I can't believe that is has already been a little more than three weeks since Amelia joined our family. I have been such a slacker on taking pictures of her so there aren't very many. Most of these are from my phone and so they are really grainy but it's the easiest to grab my phone. Amelia has been a good baby so far, she loves to eat ! She is a way chubbier baby than Olivia and I love it! She is so stinking cute! I can already tell she has her own little unique personality. We have all had a cold and now she has gotten it and I'm praying that it doesn't turn into RSV.
In this picture she looks just like Olivia did when she was a baby. They both make this funny cross eyed face with the puckered lips.
Three weeks old
One week old.

Love DaY!

We had a fun valentines day this year! Since the baby is still so little we didn't get to go out but we did have fun making cookies and valentines. Olivia and her cousins had fun decorating the cookies and making their dad's a valentines card. Later on that night we wen't to our friends and had Olive Garden take out, which was delicious and then watched the Bachelor.

Welcoming...

Amelia Kay Roberts
January 28th, 2011
7 lbs. 9 oz. & 19 in.

We are so blessed to have Amelia join our family. I can't believe that she is almost two weeks old and I'm just barely blogging about it. Due to some computer difficulties I haven't been able to load my pictures up.
I want to document the labor and delivery for memory purposes so skip past it if you have no desire to read about it.
I started having contractions in the middle of the night about every half hour. After a few hours they went to every 10 minutes and then quickly went to every 2- 2 1/2 minutes. We then decided that it was time to head for the hospital. I got checked in and about 45 minutes later they checked me and I was at a 6 and 100% effaced. They quickly got me an epidural and had my Dr. come check on me since he was already there. He was fairly sure that he would be back soon to deliver her. Shortly after they gave me the epidural my contractions went to every 15 minutes and weren't very strong. After several hours I still hadn't dilated any more than a 6 . I had to lay on my left side the entire day because her heart rate would drop if I moved to the other side. We had a few scares with her during labor. I had to have oxygen almost the entire time. They gave me patossin and it made her heart rate drop even more so they had to take me off of it. What appeared to be a fast labor ended up lasting 10 hours. I finally started to progress and within an hour or so went from a 6 to a 10. I only had to push for about 20 minutes. When she started to come out they realized that she had the cord around her neck and that she had gone to the bathroom already. Luckily she was completely fine. She gave us a scare for a few days because she didn't pass her hearing test in her left ear twice. I took her in a few days later and she passed with flying colors.
She looked like a chubbier version of Olivia the first few days but as time has passed she has developed her own look. She was born bigger than Olivia and is a much better eater than Olivia was, which is such a relief. She has been a very good baby so far and we are so happy to have her.
