Catch up...

Besides Halloween in October we had a few other things that went on.
1. Amelia turned 9 months old... CraZy!
She is getting so big and mobile.
She loves her little blanket and likes to carry it around with her.
She is standing all by herself.
She still isn't sleeping through the night.
She has two more teeth coming in
She is still the happiest little thing during the day
She doesn't have any type of anxiety to strangers
We took her to her 9 month check up on Halloween and here are her stats
Weight 18.4 ~ 39%
Height 28 ~ 66%
Head cir 17 ~ 26%
Amelia has a little bit of a mishapped head and so when we were at the Dr's I asked him what he thought and so he took a look at it and said it looked a little off and that he would refer me to a place that does the helmets . Besides her head being mishapped I noticed that her head is slightly tilted to the left. He told me that she has Torticollis and that I needed to take her to a physical therapist. I have never even heard of this before. I called the primary children's in Ogden and we went in. They did some exercises with her and then some tests. They measured her head and at this point being that she is older, there isn't anything to do to fix it. It pretty much is the way it's going to be. Thanks goodness she is a girl and it will probably not be noticeable. It wasn't that bad anyways that they were really concerned for her health mostly just cosmetic. As for her neck shedoesn't have as much strength in her left side of her neck as she does in her right, so she leans her head to the left. Her case of Torticollis is a mild case but the fact that she is 9 months means that it is going to be a lot harder to fix and we are going to have to do it in a shorter amount of time. I have to do three different stretches with her four times a day at two minutes a piece. It doesn't seem like a lot and it isn't but the poor thing doesn't like it at all and it is hard due to her size and mobility. When it is found in newborns it is easier to correct. So hopefully within 3-5 months she will be Toritcollis free.
A few other things that happen this month was my little sister came to Utah as a surprise to us. It was fun to see her and adorable Will. We didn't see them a ton but when we did it was really nice.
My dad was released from being a bishop this month and it was a really special time for our family. He was such a great bishop and I saw him grow in so many ways over the years. It was a bittersweet moment for him and my mom.
While I'm on the topic of being released from a calling I was released from Relief Society at the end of this month. I knew it was coming and yet it was a lot harder than I though it would be. I was pretty emotional about it that day and for a good week after. It is hard to be so involved and then suddenly not being. I miss the sisters that I served with and also the sisters that I was able to serve. My testimony grew in large amounts over the years while in my calling and I gained an understanding of humility and love. I'm thankful that my Heavenly Father gave me the opportunity to serve in the Relief Society.

Fall Fun...

We had a wonderful fall.. we went on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch and picked out our own pumpkins. We then painted them and Olivia had a blast at it! She wanted to painted all the pumpkins that we had. We then did caramel apples at our friends house one night. Olivia wanted to get as much candy on hers as possible and then only wanted to pick the candy off and eat it.
We had fun decorating cookies at the Lloyd's house a few days before Halloween and we probably at way to many. They were really good sugar cookies! Thanks Jaimee!
My grandpa Baker's birthday is on October 29Th and so we had a Halloween birthday bash for him. He turned 90 years old! He is such a funny and sweet grandpa and we're so lucky to have him in our lives.
Olivia dresses up as Little Red Ridding Hood and TJ was the bad wolf! They were so cute together. My little miss Amelia was a little chicken. We visited both set of grandparents on Halloween and had so yummy food. We went to a Trunk or Treat up by my brother's house and went around the neighborhood at my mom and dad's. We had a ton of fun and of course Olivia didn't want to take her costume off and then wanted to wear it everyday following Halloween. It was a great Halloween and it was fun to have Olivia understand it more this year.

September...

September is my favorite month! I love the weather and of course because it is my birthday! This September flew by and I have no idea where it went.
Amelia is now 8 months old and getting so wiggly. She started getting on her hands and knees and the beginning of the month and by the end she is crawling like crazy! She also has started standing up to almost anything that will hold her weight. Before she started crawling she had this little pose that she is famous for. She would lay on her side and prop herself up with her arm. It was so cute! She also had the rolling down pretty good enough to where she would roll and nothing would touch except her belly. She had her first ride in the shopping cart and she loved it! About two weeks into September She started to wake up a lot during the night. She would wake up screaming and there was nothing we could do to make her stop. She didn't want you to hold her or put her down. As the month went on and she still wasn't sleeping we all got more concerned for her. I took her into the Dr. and there was nothing wrong. He thinks that she was having night terrors. The bad thing about that is that there isn't anything we can do for her. We tried teething gel for her teeth, prescription for acid reflux, a blessing, feeding her solids right before bed, music in her room. Nothing has worked. I think we are all feeling the effects of the lack of sleep. I wish there was something that we could do to help her sleep.
Even though she isn't sleeping and she is aging me quicker than I would like with the lack of sleep. I love her to death! She is such a sweet little baby that loves everyone and is happy during the day. She always lights up when she sees someone. When I or TJ come home she will crawl as fast as she can to us. She loves to eat, especially solids not so much her bottle anymore. She also loves her hands and in every picture they are in her mouth.

Olivia is growing before my eyes! I can't believe how much she is maturing and becoming more independent. Lately however she has found enjoyment in hurting her little sister. She will push her or put a blanket over her or take her binky away. Anything that will make Amelia cry she will do. On the other hand she can be the nicest and loving sister. Oh the joys of having a sister! She will not look at the camera when I'm taking her picture. So every picture of her she is looking away.
My little sister Abby had her little baby boy Will in August and so I headed down to Las Vegas with my parents and Amelia. It was so fun to see her house and the beautiful little guy. Amelia did great on the trip down hardly a peep but the way back she knew what was coming and she didn't like it. She cried pretty much the whole way home. I also celebrated my 27Th birthday in September which is crazy. I feel like I'm getting old! Not fun! I had a great day though which always makes it better. I got to get a massage, I went shopping and had a yummy BBQ with my family.
So about a month ago my IT band started hurting from running and while in Vegas I went running and only made it 5 1/2 miles because my leg was killing me! I had registered for the Layton Half in October but there was no way I could run it. It's frustrating!
We went with the Powell's down to Harvest Moon in Ogden on 25th st. and had a blast with all the fun kid activities that they had. Olivia and her cousins are only two weeks apart and they all have an obsession with horses! They wanted to sit on every horse they saw. Olivia loved the real horse they had there. She enjoyed the train ride and had the tumble bus. It was hard to get her to leave.

We went for a walk to the Jensen nature park and Olivia was in love with the horses that are in the fields.

TJ's little brother Josh married his beautiful Fiance Abby at the end of September. They are such a cute couple! Congrats!

August Happenings...

Well its nothing new that I haven't blogged in a while. I have a hard time sitting down and updating it when life is so busy. So here is a what happened in August for us. Unfortunately I put the pictures on in the wrong order and it doesn't let you rearrange them and I wasn't about to start over so sorry if it's confusing.
Amelia~
She is growing ever so much. She is 7 months and is at the stage that is the easiest for me. She plays with toys and doesn't move a whole lot yet. No crawling or sitting just rolling. She is a very happy and content baby. She will go to anyone and loves to play with Olivia. She found her toes and thinks they are pretty yummy. Now this doesn't seem like a milestone for a baby but for my baby it is. Olivia was so not flexible that didn't have a chance of eating her toes. TJ and I are not flexible at all and so are children are doomed in that area. ha ha Amelia loves to eat! She however has not grasped the idea of eating anything with texture to it. She gags on anything that isn't baby food.

Olivia~
Well the day finally came!! Olivia decided that going on the potty was way more fun then wearing diapers! SHE IS FINALLY POTTY TRAINED!! I had nightmares that this day would never come. There could be a few reasons it finally worked but I'm pretty sure why. I bought her a princess potty that was just hers and it made music when you flushed it. I got her treats for after she went to the bathroom, and I had her put clothes while in her undies instead of being naked and the first time she peed it bothered her a lot. Also we made it a big deal when she would go. Scream yay! clap ours hands or give a thumbs up( this was her idea)So it could be any of those reasons that she started going potty but knowing my Livy it was her decision. When she doesn't want to do something she wont and if she does she will. She is very stubborn and strong willed. I honestly think she decided that she wanted to and so she finally did. She had the first pee accident that morning we started and none since. She had a few poop accidents but she was sick and didn't understand that type of feeling and rushing to the bathroom. I'm so happy that it is over with and that she is a big girl going in the potty. I feel so much relief!
Olivia is into two things
1. Horses and ponies
2. Dresses
She would wear a dress every day and every night if she could and it would probably be the same purple dress. I love this about her. She also has to have a horse near her or in a hand at all times. She probably has 3o horses of all different sizes and colors. She makes a jungle as she calls it and lines up all her horses along with some of their friends which are different animals. She loves doing this and gets excited to show me or TJ what she had done.
She also of course loves to watch TV and some of her favorite shows now are Blues Clues, Yo Gaba Gaba, Horseland and Curious George.

We celebrated TJ's 28Th birthday in the month of August! We had some yummy all you can eat pasta at Olive Garden and played some mini golf. Our wonderful friends the Amos' came along and enjoyed the evening with us. This was Olivia's first time playing mini golf. She threw she ball into the water twice and had no desire to hit the ball from the right spot. It was fun to watch her a Trae have fun with it. And to top the night off we went home and had some delicious homemade ice cream cake. TJ's favorite!

The beginning of August TJ was released from his calling as the Gospel Doctrine teacher and was called to be the Stake Young Men's President. He is happy to have this new calling.
At the beginning of the month we celebrated our SIX YEAR anniversary! It seriously is crazy how time has flown! I'm so grateful for the wonderful man that I married and for the best friend that I'm able to spend eternity with. He is my rock. He is my laughter. He is my love. He is my friend. He is my joy. Thank you for being you! I love you!
We didn't go on any major trips this summer but we did head to Bear Lake for the second time this summer. We had a blast with the Powell's and are thankful for them inviting us to come with them. Olivia loves the water and had a fun time helping with burring TJ in the sand. Amelia isn't sitting yet so TJ decided to dig a hole and put her in it to hold her up.

Crazy Cross Eyed...

Yes this image is a little creepy looking... HAha . Olivia has always found it entertaining when we would go cross eyed and for the longest time she thought she was actually doing it herself. But until about two weeks ago she wasn't. She finally figured it out and she cracks up when she does it. I think it is pretty funny.

911...

Oh where to start.... First and foremost I feel like the worst mom alive!! I should be more prepared to handle a situation like this. I now think that hospitals should give you a crash coarse on CPR and the Heimlich before they let you go home with the baby.
So here is the story...
Monday afternoon the girls and I were in the office downstairs. I was on the computer and the girls were playing in Olivia's princess tent right next to me. I was under the assumption that they didn't have any toys. I checked on them a few times and about 2 minutes later I heard Amelia gagging. I opened the tent and her face was purple! I immediately picked her up and looked for something in her mouth. There wasn't anything there. She then threw up and still nothing came out. I picked up my phone and dialed 911 because I was so panicked stricken that I had to get help. I put my finger in her mouth to check if it had come up but nothing. Then my finger brushed up against something hard and a little sharp down in her throat. I then knew it was a piece to a frame from Ikea that you hang it with. She wasn't purple anymore but she was in so much pain. She kept throwing up and trying to cry. The Sheriff arrived and I ran to meet him on the front lawn and he quickly turned her upside down and hit her back a few times and it finally shot out of her mouth. I felt so helpless. They checked her oxygen levels and they were fine and she didn't have any serious bleeding so they told me to take her into the Dr's. to get her checked out. I think all three of us were traumatized from this experience but it made me realize how I need to be more prepared and alert. Olivia felt bad about it and I'm hoping that it has made it so she wont give her things anymore. Crossing my fingers. I'm just so glad that everything is okay and that nothing serious happen to her.

Let's Party...

We celebrated Olivia's 3rd birthday last week! She is getting so big and interdependent lately. I love this girl to death! She has the sweetest little spirit and yet she can have the most snappy attitude also. Olivia had a wonderful time with all her friends that came a celebrated with her. Thank you for all your support! For her birthday she got a trampoline from us and lots of toys from everyone. She is still completely obsessed with ponies, horses, dresses and princesses. I love that she is into all of these things. She sleeps with a dress on almost every night and has to have at least one horse with her. So I thought it fitting to have a My Little Pony theme party. She loved her invites and wanted to carry it around all day and look at it. I took her into her annual check up and she is doing great with everything that is except going potty on the toilet.
Her stats are:
weight 28 lbs ~ 25%
Height 38 in. ~ 78%
